For over 30 years, Joyce has devoted her energies to dispute resolution through mediation, arbitration, and trial. In 2006, she handled a pro bono case involving eviction of a tenant whose landlord lost the property through foreclosure. This sparked her interest in real estate and led to a career change - first becoming a title agent, then a real estate broker, and ultimately a specialist in foreclosure defense and short sales.
As she watched the mortgage meltdown evolve, ruining the lives of so many hard working Americans, Joyce took it upon herself to help the homeowners - mediating loan modifications, negotiating short sales, defending against foreclosure, and staving off collection suits. She also invested in real estate herself and handled transactions for other investors seeking to profit from the new market. This included spearheading an FBI investigation that led to criminal convictions of fraudsters selling bulk REOs and successful civil RICO verdicts. |
